I used Maya/ZBrush, the percentage of use was 30/70. I did the basemesh in maya really quickly to begin with, and then jumped in to ZBrush as fast as possible and started working step by step, on the body then armor then belts and shoes. Since I don't like to "Fake things" I made a lot of pieces in Maya for the model, so the seams will look like a real seams, and exported around 25 subtools to ZBrush (many thanks for that feature). After completing ZBrushing the shapes and details, I used the retoplogy tool (thank god it's there, it saved me tons of hours) and used the fantastic UV Master, after that I painted textures, painted bump maps, exported beautiful normal and displacement maps.
