Rick Baker: Star From The Ground Up

Rick Baker is synonymous with creature and monster creation. He’s known as the go-to guy when it comes to creating blockbuster makeup and designing unforgettable characters. His resume reads like a best seller’s list of creatures and characters spanning over four decades. Some of his more memorable outings include; An American Werewolf in London, Harry and the Hendersons, Ed Wood, The Nutty Professor and Men in Black.

On November 30th 2012, Rick will be honored by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce with a star that’s been a long time coming on the illustrious Hollywood Walk of Fame.

On behalf of the Pixologic Team and the entire ZBrush community, here’s to you Rick. You’ve provided inspiration and pushed the bar higher than most in a career that leaves us all in awe.

  1. Congrats to you Rick Baker! Here’s to the greatest of monster makers! The teachers and students here at LAFilm School idolize and worship the Master. You deserve that star and then some. Even though I’ll be in class that day, I know I speak for the entire Computer Animation department when I say, “We’re all there in spirit.”

  2. Rick Baker has been a household name to me since I first gleaned your name in the early 80’s (Starlog mag if memory serves) and to see that he’s still in the game today, and finally being recognized like this is both thrilling and inspiring.
