ZBrush used to reconstruct ancient Cambodian artifact

King Lead In

Eric Lemaresquier and his team at leFabShop and leFabClub have employed 3D scanning and printing technology to preserve this bust of the 11th century Cambodian king, Suryavarman. The original artifact has been damaged and is missing large portions of the actual piece. Lemaresquier digitally scanned the bust using a rotating table to take over 200 photos of the sculpture. The data was then loaded into ZBrush where the team sculpted the missing details manually in order to 3D print the restored version using a paper based 3D printer.
