The 3D Printed Vortex Dress

Fashion designer Laura Thapthimkuna has launched a Kickstarter campaign in order to manufacture a highly original, one of a kind dress. The dress, known as the Vortex Dress, is inspired by an artistically rendered interpretation of a black hole. The futuristic design looks like something from science fiction and is intended to be fully 3D printed. Thapthimkuna enlisted the help of UK-based 3D designer Stephen Ions, who used ZBrush to help recreate her dress design. She is also collaborating with New York based designer Patrick Delorey to sort out material options and weight distribution.
