ZBrush 4R8 is a FREE UPGRADE for all registered users of ZBrush 4.0 and Above
Launch your existing copy of ZBrush and use the Zplugin >> Deactivation >> Web Deactivation button to deactivate it. This is not necessary if you are upgrading from version 4R3 or higher.
*Note: If your machine does not have internet access you will need to choose Zplugin >> Deactivation >> Manual Deactivation instead. Please write down the code that you will be given. You will need to provide this code to Support when you call or submit a ticket for activation of 4R8.
(If you opt not to deactivate your previous version, please do not ever deactivate it. You can simply uninstall it at any time that you are ready to do so. The only version that you should ever deactivate is the most recently activated ZBrush version.)
If you have any release in the ZBrush 4 series: To access the ZBrush 4R8 stand-alone installer you will need to know the serial number and registered email address of your license.
Fill out the form to receive your download link.
After downloading, launch the installer .EXE (for Windows) or .DMG (for Mac). From there, simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
If you are currently using ZBrush 3.5 or lower: Please submit a Support Ticket and choose the "Upgrades" department. In your ticket please provide the name and email address that your account can be found under. Once your purchase has been verified we will send a link and instructions for how to receive version 4R8 and your new serial number.
After the installation has completed, launch ZBrush 4R8. If your computer is connected to the internet you will be able to do Web Activation to receive your activation code immediately. For your convenience, your serial number is provided above. After submitting the form on the web page you will receive a message that "ZBrush has already been activated on this machine." Click the button to "Request a New Activation Code". Copy and paste that code into ZBrush 4R8 to complete your activation.
If your computer does not have internet access you will need to request Phone Activation instead. After the End User License Agreement you will be taken to a screen with a Request Code and phone number. Have your serial number ready and call that number during normal business hours (9 am to 5 pm Pacific Time, Monday through Friday). The Support representative will be able to provide you with your activation code.
Please be aware that during launch week, phone wait times are expected to be unusually high. Instead of calling you might prefer to write down your Request Code and submit a Support ticket at https://support.pixologic.com. In your ticket, provide your serial number, Request Code and desired computer name. A reply to your Support ticket will then provide your activation code.
Your upgrade is now complete and you will be able to use all of ZBrush 4R8's new features.
By default, your ZBrush 4R8 installation includes a Documentation folder. Within this folder you will find PDF's covering the new features in ZBrush 4R8 as well as everything that was introduced in earlier ZBrush 4.x releases.
Following the release of ZBrush 4R8 we will also be updating the Education section of www.pixologic.com to include videos demonstrating the new features.
Should you need help with how to use ZBrush's features (including those in version 4R8) please post in the Questions & Troubleshooting forums at ZBrushCentral. We also recommend using the Advanced Search feature there, as the most common questions have already been asked and answered many times!
On behalf of the entire Pixologic Team, we would like to thank you for being valued members of our community. It is the enthusiasm and support of our users that drives us to constantly push the limits of computer art and even redefine what digital modeling is.
We are excited to be able to provide ZBrush 4R8 to you as a free upgrade. Be sure to post your creations at ZBrushCentral!
