Durer’s Mother Re-Imagined

Trent Tate is an Austin based artist with an eye for the classics. He’s no stranger to the time honored traditions of producing classical drawings and paintings in materials like charcoal and egg tempera. His works have been on display at the Austin Museum of Art, Dallas Museum of Art and his clients include the likes of Dennis Quaid. Lately, he’s moved away from tempura paintings and focused his energy on ZBrush. This series of illustrations demonstrate that a little ingenuity goes a long way. Taking up the challenge of recreating a Durer drawing is no easy task, doing it using ZBrush isn’t something you see everyday! In this case, Trent has climbed the mountain and lived to tell the tale. You can find out more about Trent and his methods of illustration by visiting his website.
