October 20 2005 - Displacement Exporter & Multi-Displacement Two

Pixologic, Inc., makers of the award-winning modeling, texturing and painting application, ZBrush, today announced the release of two new plug-in, Displacement Exporter and Multi-Displacement 2.

Displacement Exporter is a free plug-in for registered users that automates and enhances ZBrush’s current displacement exporting abilities. It includes the ability to export out 8 bit, 16 bit, and 32 bit floating point grayscale or RGB maps. It also includes the ability to convert your displacement map into a normal map and gives you full control over what you put in each channel of your file texture.

Multi-Displacement 2 enables you to generate 32 bit floating point maps with real-world coordinates baked into the displacement map as well as generate multiple displacement maps for a model by using UV regions. 32 bit floating point maps provides the highest degree of fidelity between your ZBrush sculpt and your final render.

Displacement Exporter continues Pixologic’s commitment to production artists and providing innovative tools to support next generation artists forging the work of tomorrow.
