For this demo I started from an older male scanned head. I started with some reference from a hornet, and focused on doing a mixture of alien/bee interaction. With that in mind, I then started with moving the forms of the scanned head, before creating a rough hornet to kitbash into the design. Using that hornet, I brought in forms from the insect to the head to start fleshing him out. After concentrating on having the eye flow around the design and giving areas of rest, I slowly built up the base forms before filling out the secondary details of the concept. When I was happy with the direction of the head, I slowly used spheres to build the main body, fleshing out a general direction based on what I created within the head and carried that same thought to the arms, legs, and finished out my hornet/alien creation. This will be the first part of this design, so next episode I will add higher level of details, to then take him to PolyPaint to final design.
